Hoermal Audio is a german company that aimed to enhance its digital ecosystem starting from a brand new app to better engage users during events live audiodescriptions. The collaboration started with an assessment of the current digital touchpoints and it rapidly scaled to redesign of their website and the design of a new app.

The primary goal was to create a cohesive and user-friendly experience across both web and mobile platforms. The redesigned experience enhances accessibility, improves user engagement, and streamlines the navigation for accessing events’ audiodescriptions, blogs, and podcasts.

PROCESS

From the digital touchpoints assessment of the existing website to the design of a new digital presence, for web and app.

The analysis and assessment of the website identified problems of navigation and content finding. The client wanted a new look & feel for their digital presence and to be more friendly for the launch of the app. Starting from problems found and the value proposition, the design phase focused on creating an intuitive navigation with optimized accessibility features, while seamless content integration allowed for easy access to blogs and podcasts. Close collaboration with the development team ensured the final product met both user needs and business goals.

A BRAND NEW APP TO OFFER SERVICES effectively

The first release of the app aimed to create a welcoming and user-friendly experience. It featured an audiodescribed onboarding process that guided users through the app's sections, ensuring accessibility from the start. The integrated system allowed users to easily connect to live events, register for upcoming events, and stay informed about future activities. Additionally, users could access a wealth of content, including podcasts and blog posts, all designed to promote inclusion and accessibility within the community.

The page includes a black-and-white photo of two people, a registration button, event information, and speaker details. The navigation menu includes options like 'About us', 'Services', and 'Events'. The theme is consistent across both devices.

responsive design across devices

The new website redesign is fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across all devices. It prioritizes accessibility, incorporating features such as high contrast modes and screen reader compatibility to cater to all users. The design also establishes a coherent identity with the app, maintaining visual consistency and a unified user experience. This alignment enhances brand recognition and provides users with a familiar and intuitive interface, whether they are accessing the platform via the web or the app.

visual consistency & efficiency

A design system was crucial for this project, ensuring consistency and efficiency across both web and app platforms. By standardizing components and guidelines, the design system facilitated the creation of accessible features such as high contrast modes, scalable text, and screen reader compatibility. This cohesive framework not only streamlined the development process but also ensured that every aspect of the user experience adhered to accessibility standards, providing a seamless and inclusive experience for all users.
